Well today, 19th December, after 5 and a half months, since starting c25k, I finally reached my ‘ Graduation B’ of 5 k non stop.
I have been in continuous motion for 5k 3 times before but was taking a short walk in the middle, gradually extending to longer runs.
I have been really bad since falling over and smacking my knees again about 3 weeks ago, and have dropped down to one run a week on the treadmill during the cold and damp weather. Also there just seems to have been an avalanche of work. Today I was feeling heavy and lethargic and just went for a really slow steady session. I was thinking about something else so was surprised when I hit 20 minutes, which is the minimum I always promise myself. By 30 minutes it was still looking good- I’m usually falling off the treadmill with monotony by then. So I thought I would go for 40 non stop, and then, what the heck, might as well do my ‘ GraduationB’!
45 minutes. Once a slowcoach, always a slowcoach, but who cares woo hoo!
Happy running and Happy Christmas everyone,.. although if I can’t even go to the gym and run I don’t quite know how I’m going to manage ‘ Tier 4’ January....
