Finished C25K 9 days ago and realised that mentally being freed from the clock allowed me to set goals based on distance instead of time.
I decided I wanted to do 5K, so taking it slow and steady I managed it in 44 mins. Going forwards I plan to do one 3K run and one 5K run a week and will look to slowly improve my time.
For those new to C25K, or perhaps struggling, just keep going, trust the programme and you'll get there. Back in September I was nearly 3 stone heavier and never dreamed I'd be able to run 5K by December and yet here I am.

Congratulations to you Saarek on running your first 5K, I like your plan on running a 3K and a 5K once a week, that's what I do but it's a 5K and an 8K, sometimes 10K
Since I graduated from C25K I run twice a week, my first full 5K was about 4 weeks after I graduated, I increased my distance to 10K gradually, so like you good luck for running twice a week.
Well done on your 5k! That’s exactly what I do, a 3k and a 5k, and my speed is quite consistent. As long as you’re still running and enjoying it, that’s the main thing. I think you need to do what’s right for you.
Congratulations on the 5k, and that looks like a good, sensible pace too, i think, just being out there running, and enjoying the run, is the most important thing, more distance will come with time! 👏👏👏
Congratulations I hope to continue running twice a week sometimes three times on alternate weeks due to my work timetable. I am hoping to build up to 5K eventually but then doing one shorter and one longer run sounds like a great idea. It would be a good way to try to go a little bit faster on the shorter run without overdoing it. I definitely need to spend a while consolidating for now though
