I had a two day rest because Iโve had stuff going on at work that meant no Thursday outing. Iโd also felt heavy legged and jaded after my Tuesday run so a two day break worked in more ways than one.
Walked to the park & cracked on with the run. Iโm sure Iโm not alone in this but I always think โIโll make this a short oneโ and then, on good days, I get into my stride and go further than Iโd planned. Today was such a run - thought Iโd just do 2/3k but deliberately varied the route (itโs a circuit) and did 6k for the first time EVER - really EVER. I felt I could have carried on but I also had the sense to realise that Iโd probably โpushed the envelopeโ far enough already.
Chuffed doesnโt cover how I felt. I am amazed every time I manage the first 1k mark - it hits me freshly each time - but 6k! Thatโs the stuff of dreams for a middle aged lump like me ๐๐๐

Whoโd have thought it ๐ค!! I had this same moment today when I ran for 45 mins ๐ฎ. 6k is another huge milestone. Congratulations ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป.
Oh, very impressive, well done! There is a lot of work getting to 5k, and breaking through the 5k barrier does indeed seem like a new realm of longer runs is now open to you.I'm at the point of being close to the magic 5k without worrying about speed, and that will probably make me feel I've 'arrived!'
You may say you're a 'middle aged lump', but you're a 'FIT middle aged lump' for sure. ๐. Best wishes.
