First post. I’m loving reading all the posts & encouragement on here. The advice has sorted out a good few of my issues and I’m now upto w8r3 and loving it.
I’ve always run outside and it’s hilly here but this week I run uphill for first 10mins then level off a little and at the half way bell turn round to finish with a lovely run downhill. Can’t imagine running on a treadmill and missing out on that downhill run.
Also at 63 I have lots of aches & pains in hip, shoulder, knee but nothing too serious. But when I run those pains seem to all disappear and the body in motion is a great feeling.
I’m going to keep on running (well slow jogging) as long as I can.

Same age as you and 1 week behind in runs. However, I really cannot imagine running uphill for 10 minutes!! You must be fit, I'm sure it would nearly kill me 😂.Good luck for your final week of the program, enjoy..
But we thought at the start that running for 5 mins was impossible... I just take it slow and plod on, gritting my teeth helps though! Thanks for your support and looking forward to us both graduating soon 👍
Well done you. I had to really make myself get out today but pleased I did and ran further than on other 2 wk8 runs. Just a few more runs then we’ll be graduates. So proud of both of us🤪
Yes, it’s getting a bit difficult to get outside now, so cold! I’m just getting ready for run 2, have the usual nervous feeling! Not long now though, we are doing well!
Go you.. I started C25K.. in 2015 ...65 years old ..graduating in the week before Christmas...dark and wet..I am still here. Still running..one Half Marathon at 69 and now, I use hills as warm ups...You have all these joys to come!!You are going to love it!!
Welcome to the forum, you'll get loads of possitive help and advise on here, from people just like yourself, although, running up hills!!! 🥵Good luck with week 9. 😀
I started C25k aged 65 and now 66. It amazes me that I have no pains in hips or knees when running (well, slow jogging), I enjoy running outside, and just wish I had started this a few years ago (before the hip and knee issues started).
Hi - yes I wish I’d got into running earlier like you. I tried in my 50s but without C25K and then an ankle injury, I gave up. I’m very careful where I run now as I don’t want any injuries putting me off again. Just the 3 runs of week 9 to go then I graduate. C25K should be given a knighthood for the great work it does for us! Best wishes to you with your future runs.
