Supposed to be CR4.....

Ran out on the streets at 6.30 this morning. Only managed 5 mins warm up & cool down walk, 16 mins running 🙈. Finding street running much tougher than the treadmill. Still no pain, possibly I’m just needing to get over the mental stress of waiting for my knee to hurt and get on with it.

I’ll go out on Friday and just build up till the gyms reopen. Maybe I’ll be so good at outdoor running by then I’ll not look at a treadmill again 🤣🙄

Think I just need to concentrate on the run and not what might happen so much

Well done - better than me. I'm trying to force myself to go out rather than on the treadmill. I would want to go out in the dark when no-one can see me. The cold won't bother me though.

Exactly why I was out then lol

My CR6 is tomorrow and I'm sat here arguing and trying to convince myself to jog outside tomorrow - but in the dark. You're brave enough to do it so maybe I should try too.

Go for it! It is nice running outside, looking at more than just the treadmill stats or a wall. Make sure your clothing’s visible though. I was out in all black, bar orange sleeves. A delivery guy gave me to trouble (kindly). I was really aware, so super careful at roads.

Thanks, because pf you I managed to get up the guts and run out side - in the dark tonight. I'm really chuffed.

Reality is usually not so bad. I’m “thinking”of doing a run tomorrow in the daylight on the running track at the high school..... where my daughter and her pals will no doubt see me 🙈. ....... maybe not, maybe still the dark at 6.30am 🤔

Well done Alvor..👏👏👏 especially if you're finding the street running more difficult...but..you got out there. Sounds like you're pain free at the moment..great 👍. Don't let your worries get the better of you.... Hey, you might even like street running. Can't imagine running on a treadmill..I'd be bored...so good on you. All the best 🦌🐢🐌🏃‍♀️🙋

Thank you! I am actually jealous of street runners😂. It’s always been my goal. Always watching how they run. Treadmill running is boring, though I look at my numbers all the time and listen to my tunes so that helps. It’s also always pain free. Heading out Friday morning again, in the dark so I can’t be seen 🙈

The pain free part sounds fabulous👍. I started off running round the local common so I wouldn't be seen...you'll soon get over that. Enjoy your next run...and the next one..and..🦌🐢🐌🏃‍♀️🙋

I started on back streets super early and kept getting spotted!! Then I had a woman who started to wave to me each time I passed her house 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

I have been converted only ever ran on treadmill but since my Gym has been closed I have been running outside and I enjoy it so much more!

I totally get the not wanting anyone to see you (Am on the larger side) and it took me days to get up the courage but now I don’t care. Took me a good 3 runs to get the pace correct and ached in different places but enjoy it so much more than watching the seconds tick away on the treadmill. Good luck 🤞 Jog like no ones watching😜

I’m hoping to run outside every run. It’s so much nicer. Think I’m just worrying too much about my knee. I just need to stop if it hurts 🤷🏻‍♀️. I need to get past “fat bird running” worry too 🤣

I’m so with you honestly I was so worried about someone shouting something at me and maybe it will happen but I stick the headphones in and don’t care now! My biggest worry is someone will walk past me 😂😂😂 so I always cross over the road.

Dress brightly and be the one to look people in the eyes and say hello to them. Don't care what they think about you. I had people deliberately getting out of my way this morning. It was a weird but good feeling.
