Despite graduating some time. On Wednesday did my first 5km. It took me just under an hour which is depressingly slow.
1st 5km run: Despite graduating some time. On... - Couch to 5K
1st 5km run
But you did it and you should feel happy!!!!! Congratulations!!
Be proud and feel smug..............slow runners live longer.womensrunning.com/culture/s....
This would suggest walking is healthier than jogging and running etc?
Read the article.Running is better for your heart, your lungs and your bone strength than mere walking.........but it doesn't need to be fast.
Yep just read it after replied to you lol was too late to edit response. 🙈So running is healthy at slow/moderate intensity.
Thanks for sharing this link its useful 👍
Looking forward to tomorrow's run
That is why it is recommended that C25K is undertaken at an easy conversational pace, which equates to approximately 75% of your maximum heart rate, which is the perfect zone to build the solid aerobic base required to run faster and further, which is why it is the pace at which elite athletes spend up to 80% of their training time.
I’m still slow, but it’s pretty amazing to be able to run for an hour. I’d be happy with that.
Well done
Hi there Kegman. You ran for an hour...how bloody amazing is that 👏👏👏👏. Don't get hung up on pace, just remember how far you've come from W1 💪💪💪😁😁. I felt deflated just after midway in the programme when I clocked my pace, and compared it to my partners. He was running 5k/30 mins about 4 weeks before W9, I've just graduated and it's prob going to take me a few weeks to get to 5k. I stopped comparing myself to other people and just ran... because I wanted to...and because I actually could! And i've enjoyed all my runs since then. Why spoil a real pleasure? You're doing absolutely fantastic....compare your pace to the many people who don't want to or who aren't able to get off that couch. And now ask yourself....how am I doing? All the very best. 🏃♀️🙋🐢🐌
