Final session with intervals, done. I have enjoyed the last two runs the most out of all the sessions so far. And (since I will inevitably compare my progress to the last time I tried C25K) I can honestly say I am enjoying it a lot more this time round.
I know paying too much attention to the numbers is a no-no for a lot of people, but I have found having my heart rate shown on my fitness watch has hugely helped me manage my pace and my exertion, which in turn helps me enjoy the run more by not overdoing it.
One thing I have now, that I didn't have in 2018, is the utmost confidence that I can complete the plan, and also the inkling of an idea that I could - maybe, one day - take this right up to 10K, in time. The first time I tried the plan, I remained unconvinced that I would be able to manage 30 minutes non-stop, let alone 5K (I only got to finishing W9R1, then stopped - and that was a little way off the full 5K).
The idea of reaching that goal - 5K non-stop, however long it takes - is what is motivating me, because I absolutely know I can do it.
W6R3 first, though. I'll be doing that on Sunday, hopefully in a beautiful woodland park nearby, for a nice change of scene. Onwards!
