Week 2 Completed

Just finished the second week. Certainly not easy but I got through it. Starting to understand that breathing is so important when jogging. I know I know. Breathing is pretty important at any time I hear you say. But when I did struggle it wasn't my legs complaining it was a shortness of breath. Got through it by slowing down and focussing on my breathing. Anyone have any other tips?

Slow down even more?

You will get some more guidance on this forum.

Maybe the weather made breathing harder than normal.

I saw a vid on breathing that suggested 1,2,3 steps in and then 1,2,3, steps out for breathing as in little breaths in, in, in then out, out, out, to train you into a regular pattern.

I checked my own breathing and this is pretty much what I did naturally, the in breath lasts about 3 steps and then out for 3.

You might like to try that, count in for three then out. Seems to work pretty well for me but as a newbie runner my advice is free cause that is what it might be worth. :)
