Thanks to this great couch25k program, I'm running/shuffling 5k on Saturday 7th November, for the Poppy Run. It's a sponsored run for the British Legion. I can't believe I'm actually doing this at 65 and never before been interested in physical exercise. I started this journey in February just before my birthday. I completed it during lockdown but then picked up a sore foot and had to stop shuffling for a few weeks. I saw a podiatrist and had a gait analysis, bought new trainers and started again. I absolutely love going out before breakfast three mornings a week. The fresh air and countryside really gives me a lift for the rest of the day. Hoping for a windless and dry morning tomorrow π€Thank you to everyone on this site for advice and laughs

Poppy Run
Isnβt the transformation from that first C25k run amazing? I keep saying that I wish Iβd discovered running earlier but having found it during my retirement is a real bonus and Iβm sure it has been life changing.
I am so pleased that so many people have started a running journey during lockdown this year and I wish you many happy running journeys in those news shoes.
Well done on doing the MyPoppyRun. 3 of us (in a social bubble) are intending to do it on the 11th.
Wow! You sound amazing! I like to go out before breakfast too & usually before work and, like you, I feel great then for the whole day. Tomorrow Iβm due to run week 7, run 2 and I canβt believe that I can run for 25 minutes and actually enjoy it. Iβm a shuffler too but I feel such a great sense of achievement to be able to complete these longer runs after having struggled on week 5 run 3. Good luck with your Poppy Run tomorrow - Iβm sure youβll smash it!! X ππ
I started in August, the day after my 65th birthday! Iβve just started the distance plan over on Bridge to 10k...somewhere during that I aim to be jogging non stop for 5k π
Well done you and good luck for tomorrow πππ’ππ»ββοΈππ§‘π
Hi, I hope your run went well today!
I started this in April aged 65, now aged 66 and hope to keep on slow jogging for as long as I can. Some knee and hip issues, but to be honest the brisk walking seems harder than the slow jogging.
PS. You should be Fitwoman65!
