Consolidation run no 5

So I decided to go out this morning and try to run the full 5km after getting 4km+ under my belt.

What a lovely morning. Frost of the cars πŸš— and coldest morning yet for me but great to see the sun 🌞 shine.

I had to negotiate the children going to school, dog 🐢 walkers and lots of traffic on the roads, not to mention the damp leaves 🍁.

I realise now that I can achieve the 5km if I slow down a little and I guess overtime I will improve my pace.

I did it in 40 minutes so will train on my indoor bike 🚲 for 40 minutes so hopefully my legs can keep going again on my next run.

I dedicate this run to my friend & work colleague Martin who sadly lost his battle with cancer this week. πŸ˜”

It was cold at first and the woolly hat came off very soon after running πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ.

Good run for you Angie09, good time as well, way back decades ago I used to win short sprint races when I was at Primary School, I would be around 10 or 11 at that time, I took up cycling when I was 7 years old, I think the cycling did help me win those races, however, with longer runs I am not sure if cycling will help you with those 5K runs of longer, perhaps a bit, so keep on running and keep training on your indoor exercise bike.

Thank you 😊. I will continue as it can’t be a bad thing mixing up the exercise. I wonder if I can go out again tomorrow morning as I am on leave atm so I have the time. Or should I take a rest day?

It's better to take a rest day, otherwise you might get a injury.

Thank you. I will do that. I do tend to push myself to far to fast. 😊

Well done for your 5K, it’s one of those β€˜milestone’ runs πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘

How lovely to dedicate this run to your friend.

As new runners, we still need our rest days to repair muscles. Cycling is a great activity for you on your rest days from running and will help with your strength and stamina. Happy running πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ
