Took three attempts, over 30 months, but I’ve managed to FINISH C25k 😀😀😀

I did week 9 run 3 on Monday and it feels great. My journey started over 30 months ago when I decided to try something new for my 50th birthday. I’d never been a runner, grew up thinking I couldn’t run but something about this program got me hooked.

My first attempt was derailed by a case of cellulitis. My second attempt by my mum’s passing away after a long fight with cancer. Normally that would be it for me, but something drew me back. I had proven that I could run in my first two attempts. So in August 2020 I went back to the beginning and started again.

I had a wobble at Week5 Run3 but thanks to this community with great advice I got over that and haven’t looked back.

My pace isn’t fast. In the 30 mins I’ve done about 3.5km. But I’m running for 30 mins 😀😀. I’ve done a couple of consolidation runs now and plan to keep going with that for a while to get my pace up a bit.

So, if you’re like me and take a few attempts, that’s okay. We’ve all got different things going on in our lives and each person’s journey is going to be different. Run your race - your way.
