CR2 One to be forgotten πŸ₯΄

It was foggy 🌫 when I got up and I should’ve just flipping’ well got on with it, it wasn’t as though I was going to get run over or run into anything πŸ™„ After my first successful post grad run I was determined to get out again πŸƒβ€β™€οΈnot least of all because my husband and I are planning on running together for the very first time on Sunday 😬 so just in case I’d forgotten what to do since Wednesday πŸ˜† I thought practice, practice, practice πŸ‘Œ

Well, by the time I’d done some jobs around the house and faffed around getting ready the fog had well and truly burnt off to be replaced by a cloudless blue sky and 🌞

For some stupid reason I decided to change my route (uphill on the way back πŸ™„ πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ) and change my tunes 🎢 what a mistake 🀣 I’d decided to continue running with Jo for a few more runs but she deserted me 3 times on this run so I’m afraid that’s it now, we’re parting company πŸ˜• and it’s over to NRC.

I did complete the 30minutes but it was yuk on so many levels and felt like my worst run ever 😩 I’m just thinking it’s all in the cause of increasing my determination and stamina building πŸ€”

Have a lovely weekend everyone and happy running πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Thank you 😊 yes and as much as I hate hills (they’re slight inclines really πŸ˜‰) apparently it will make me a stronger and better runner 🀞

It’s behind you now. Don’t dwell on it - look forward to your run with your husband on Sunday. 😊

Thank you, I am 😊 This was, in part, my motivation for doing β€˜it’ as he runs anyway and would dearly love for us to run together occasionally. It’s on my terms...30 mins and at my pace πŸ‘Œ

Did you manage to get out today as you’d hoped? 🀞

Aaah...no πŸ˜”πŸ™„πŸ˜¬πŸ˜«

Hit by really bad stomach cramps after my early morning tea, so didn’t want to risk leaving the house. It was such a lovely day too...sigh.

Feel fine today. About to do weekly food shop, then will go for a walk if it isn’t raining. The allotment beckons too if it clears.

I’ll leave the dreaded main road jog until Sunday...

Oh no πŸ₯΄ never a good feeling 😬 glad you feel better today. Enjoy your walk and hope you get to the allotment, we managed to watch Gardeners World last night πŸ˜ƒ we can’t always get it but my week is not the same without it 😊

It’s seems as though even after graduation our experiences are pretty similar! πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

I too got to a point yesterday when I thought the C25K app and Jo have served me well but it’s not quite doing it anymore πŸ™„

Part of it, I think, is because I feel the same pressure to do exactly what I’m told and if it doesn’t quite go as planned it feels like I’m failing even though I’ve done the programme and graduated! That’s not a good start to keep running and enjoying it! πŸ˜†

I also just can’t get to grips with remembering stretches, music, the app, water bottle and Strava or similar all before I put a 🦢 out the door, and as I’m watching it start to get dark πŸŒ™

D’ya know what?

I’ve decided that for the next few weeks I’m not going to worry about how far I’ve gone or how long I’ve run for without stopping, I’m just going to enjoy the fact that just over 10 weeks ago I couldn’t even run for 60 seconds and now, if I put my mind to it I can run for 30 minutes 😁

I never started this to become an elite athlete 😜 I just wanted to be fitter and do something that’s for me rather than for everyone else.

I’m going to try Roseabi’s and other people’s suggestion on the forum of varying run times which will fit in better around work and see what happens. If I can get to 5k great πŸ‘ but it’s not the end of the world if I never do.

I liked the look of Nike Running Club but also check out The Run Experience on YouTube.

I found it by accident when I was searching for cool down stretches and have enjoyed understanding more about breathing, different techniques to reduce injury etc

Have a good run tomorrow with your husband πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜

CazzaW profile image
CazzaWGraduate in reply to MinnieMoo55

Yup, you’re right, all I really wanted to get from doing this was to get fitter, I definitely have no aspirations either to be an elite athlete πŸ˜† I really want to try and get out 2-3 times a week πŸƒβ€β™€οΈtho’, weather depending, but know as it gets colder here snow and ice is going to become a spoiler. Obviously a goal was also to be able to run occasionally with John too because that’s what he would like 😊

I like a prompt in my ear telling me how long I’ve been running for, and if I stop using Jo I can get that on Runkeeper which I’ve started using. I’m def going to try NRC too. I’m also better with goals to achieve (maybe an O.T. thing πŸ˜‚) I would like to be able to run 5K one day, but not regularly πŸ˜‚ and I have no inclination to run any further than that. A dream would be to get to 5k in 30 mins, just once πŸ˜‰ but I’m not hung up on that if I never achieve it πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ If I can do 20-30 mins each run I’ll be super happy. Roseabi has suggested a little plan for me in Consolidation Club and I also like the idea of intervals but super slow jogging the walks. I don’t want to be able to run for an hour tho’ 🀣

Initially though, I’m going to try and complete 3 weeks consolidation of 30 min runs, if I can, as I feel I need to get more consistent at doing that before I do anything different. I do seem, unintentionally, to be running quicker and covering more ground even though I make myself slow down. I seem to get into my own rhythm and run to my 🎢 but I know each run isn’t going to be the same.

Will check out the breathing inYou Tube too thanks πŸ‘

Will think of you out running tomorrow too πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ under no pressure, like last week πŸ˜† and enjoy your time off 😊

Well done for getting out there Cazza 🌟

I told myself I was going to tackle some hills but haven’t had the energy this week.

Keep doing your thing, shake it off, onto the next! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ˜€οΈ

That is a shame that you didn’t enjoy that run. I think we have all done runs where they are awful. The yuk one is out the way now.

Your next run will probably be much more enjoyable πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜Š

Hi Cazza, well done on getting out, the weather is turning and can be an easy excuse, I was planning on going out today but wet and windy. Better day tomorrow so will go for it.

We all have good and bad days but the main things is you have got more miles in your legs 🦡 πŸ˜ƒ. Enjoy the rest of your weekend πŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ˜ΊοΈ

Enjoy your run tomorrow and the rest of your weekend too 😊

Think the good/bad runs just come with the territory it seems πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

There’s something to be learnt in each one though and it all adds to our experience .

Also some days changing things will work ( route, music etc.) and some days not so much .

I drive myself crazy sometimes changing things that I’ve only just decided worked well and should do again , humans are a strange lot πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I hope you don’t mind I’ve saved roseabi’s little plan too, once I get a few more 30 min runs under my belt it looks like one to try .

I’m not looking for big goals but it would be nice to gradually stretch to be a 60 minute runner , but not just for the number of minutes but to meander further afield , I’m not interested in running in circles for 60 mins πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I’m sure our goals may change as we evolve though , it will be fun to look back on these posts πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚

CazzaW profile image
CazzaWGraduate in reply to RacingintheStreet

You’re doing a grand job working your way through all the posts 😊

Would be delighted for you to share roseabi’s plan, it’s for anyone who would like to give it a go. I think we all just need to work out what’s best for ourselves but as I said to roseabi I can’t ever see myself getting to an hour 😳 not really sure if I want to 😬 but then I never thought I’d be able to keep going for half an hour πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I’d love to get to 5k and that might be sooner than I thought πŸ˜‰ but am definitely sticking with 30 mins (minimum) for another 2 weeks before I do less 🀣 Well that’s the intention anyway altho’ it’s quite possible that I may end up stopping short for no end of possible reasons πŸ˜†

Hope you’re still doing ok with your brakes and stabilizers πŸ‘ πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜Š

Thanks Cazza , I’m way behind with posts and replies πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚ and it’s not like I’m busy πŸ˜‰

As much as I love Autumn the last week has been a bit wild , weather wise and I seem to have drained my batteries . Need to reenergise πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜‚

Anyway , I like look of pushing the time on run 3 of roseabis suggested plan , that way the 5k may take care of itself rather than me chasing it .

I’m being very good and sticking to my 30 mins although my β€˜comfortable’ pace is much faster it seems πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ Yet I stay around the 4km.

Not sure I truly understand the relationship between pace, distance , speed etc. but I do know that it’s feeling natural even though quicker . Maybe getting stronger .

I’m off to catch up on everyones posts and then do mine for my last 3 runs 😱😱 if I v

Can remember them πŸ˜‚ 1 good, 1 not so good and 1 pretty dashed awesome actually πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ But all 4K and all 30 mins πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
