Well that’s another 5k in the bag. Slower than my previous two 5ks but, given that I had three rest days between the first and second and only one between second and third, I think a time of 34 minutes 14 seconds is more than respectable.
Highlight of the run, the shout of “bloody hell, Merv” as I went past one of my mates who didn’t know I was running.
What kept me going to the end, even though I really wanted to stop just after the 4k mark? Wanting to be running throughout the wonderful Kizzy Crawford singing “Enfys Yn Y Glaw”. It just took my mind off the effort I was having to put in and there was no way I was stopping until it finished.
