After last week's running highs today has brought me crashing down to earth!
Decided to jog pretty slowly until I stopped feeling so tight and heavy legged... It didn't happen! From minute 1 to minute 30 I had to force myself around a new route, tried a podcast to distract me but didn't really hit the spot. Managed about 2.8 miles which is a fair bit less than I have been running and when that 30th minute ticked over I couldn't wait to stop! Only one good thing happened and that was the sun coming up so il put a picture of that instead of the usual data 🤣
Apart from the pic though, absolute Meh!
Hope you all have better luck with it today! 👍🏻

Sorry to hear this wasn’t your ‘best’ run Jericho! But you still got out there and completed it which is still a real accomplishment given how hard it sounded. Onwards and upwards to your next consolidation run, fingers crossed it’s a good one 🤞🏼☺️
It certainly is meh when you have a run like that. Yesterday’s run was like that for me, was so tired. I’m hoping it was because I hadn’t had anything to eat or drink before I ran. Definitely having a banana or something before tomorrow’s run. Well, we made it round, that’s the main thing! I was up early taking the dog for a walk and it was a lovely sunrise here in Yorkshire too!
I hate to say it but I think this is quite a classic, dare I say, inevitable feeling in early consolidation. Rather like people feeling deflated on W6R1 after the high of W5R3.
Don’t sweat it, we all have ‘meh’ runs. Consolidation is all about gaining miles in the legs and making your new skill a regular habit. You’ll smash it.
I’d say chuck this run in the run bin but that sky is too pretty so it’s worth remembering just for that 😍
Yeah I think I'm gonna take the rest of the week off from running, (going hiking again Saturday morning!) will start running fresh on Monday and hopefully feel better 💪🏻
Meh runs happen to us all so you are in good company - but there is something quite empowering about realising that you can keep going, even on a “meh run”.😄
I think we all have to expect runs which are a struggle or are just generally 'meh'. All the other factors in our lives are going to have an impact and our bodies aren't always going to play ball. I guess sometimes the run is going to be just what we need to give us a lift but other times a lie might have been better!! 😴 So well done on getting out there and completing the run - we're still new to this and learning so chalk it up to experience 💪😀
Yes Jericho meh runs are just par for the course I guess. I’d like to go out there every time and run like the wind with a smile on my face but in reality it’s usually a struggle. But as has been said you went out and completed and that’s all that needs to be done. Well done mate ..... Also, awesome pic! 👍
Ah! Sorry to hear about your "meh run". Happens to us all and it seems you were due a meh run this morning. Glorious sunrise there though so not all bad.. Maybe you were just tired. Still, you got it done and you can feel good for doing that at least!!
I, on the other hand, did NOT get it done this morning due to my work schedule changing last minute and having to get into the office early Started fretting about letting my fitness go, runs not happening as frequently as they should be, bla bla... but I let it go (I mean, life gets in the way etc...especially during pandemics!) and am on target for W9R1 tomorrow morning all being well.
Yeah work can be a pain in the butt! Wouldn't worry about missing a day though, extra days recovery so be super ready for tomorrow! 😁👍🏻 I've gone shopping to cheer myself up 🤣 is it too early for Xmas bedding?! 🤣🤣🤣
