Iโm an evening running convert it seems ๐๐
Tonight I got a bit better organised , waited until just before dark and the streetlights came on and off I went .
When I went out the other evening I really just ran around and had to do a few loops to get the time in but also keep within lit areas but I did โeye upโ some potential roads .
So tonight I ran along a sort of main road ( well lit not too busy but with enough regular traffic passing) that links my village to the next.
Itโs barely 800 metres long but maintains the separate identities of the two villages ( very important) ๐ for me it provided somewhere new to go to clock up a bit of time .
Like many others the first 8/10 minutes always feels as though I have made no progress at all and I might not actually be able to do it. By 15 minutes all is well and I seem to be managing a steady ( and improving pace ) . I think going slowly that first 10 is crucial for me after that my pace does quietly increase over the km but more importantly I feel comfortable and enjoy it .
I did the 5 k again but Donโt find that last 400 m that comfortable and Iโm aware Iโm pushing it , not entirely sure why . I think now I know I can do it that I might make the next couple of runs 4km and work on being โeffortlessโ , I havenโt forgotten my role model โswan ladyโ runner that I so admired ๐๐
Used the Nike app again and went back to making my own playlist to shuffle ,
Highlights tonight were
โMeet me on the Corner - Lindisfarne
Jack and Diane -John Mellencamp
When we were Young - The Killers
Songbird - Fleetwood Mac
The River - Bruce Springsteen
Let Your Love Flow - The Bellamy Brothers
American Pie - Don McLean Thanks LottieMW for reminder ๐
With three consolidation runs done now I seem to have gotten my feeling of โlooking forward to the next one โ back .
Although that is always easy to say just after the euphoria of having just done a run ๐๐๐
Oh and well done Rafa ๐
Oh and โDecember 63 oh What a Nightโ -Frankie Valli too๐
