I'd like to share my experience today of running while listening to a podcast rather than my usual music.
It was my first run of week 9, 30 mins! I've been listening to music since day 1 (except for a week i had an ear infection and had to give up headphones- but that left me feeling naked!)
Since I started the solid runs I've been thinking i need a bit more distraction, so I downloaded a podcast recommended to me called "my dad wrote a porno".
Pros: distracted me from run, and the rain! Got to 30 mins no problem.
Cons: I was doubled over laughing till I cried at some points. Pace was super slow. Some odd looks from dog walkers.

I listen to “no such thing as a fish” which is the QI elves chatting about leftover fact. It’s informative, funny and sometimes rude! Try it. Also you’ll never run out - there are over 300 episodes! I’ve discovered (by accident) you can listen at 1.5X speed and still follow it quite easily. Not recommended for music 🤣🤣
I have that in my phone's "collect automatically" list. However, I'm nearly a year behind on listening to them. They've been doing a new episode every Friday since 2013 or so.
I'm gutted that they were live in Manchester last year when we were to be away on holiday.
I’m working through the old ones at 1.5x or 2x speed. Wish it would have the same effect on my running times! 🤣 That was a shame to miss them - little did we know how much we should have grasped last year when we still could!
I love Table Manners. A bit sweary but each and every one I’ve listened to has made me laugh and got me round my route. Jessie’s mum Lennie is a legend!
