Just wondering what people like to listen to while running. I've only listened to music, while my sister likes podcasts. I'm a bit afraid to change incase my legs don't work π
Music, podcasts or audiobooks?: Just wondering... - Couch to 5K
Music, podcasts or audiobooks?
I listen to the radio, I did use music, different sorts but quite like the radio now, canβt get on with podcasts
I like to listen to the Radio, normally Chris Evans if during the week, as I prefer to have a mixture of music, chat and news etc. If its the weekend, I tend to listen to a podcast... anything that helps me forget that I am not enjoying the running!
See you at the finish line.
If it's a weekday morning run, it's music radio, specifically the "Marty in the Morning" show from Irish station RTΓ Lyric FM. (I'm in the UK, but I stumbled on this gem whilst on holiday over there a few years ago.) If it's weekend or an afternoon/evening, it's my own random playlist of music.
I'd prefer not to have speech conflicting with the spoken instructions from the app. Maybe when I graduate I'll start listening to speech podcasts as well.
I like to listen to the air as it passes my ears :-;
Classic rock playlist every time.....πππ
Im with you MontyMooDog. Classic rock every timeπ
I listened to a Spotify playlist someone on here recommended a couple of months ago βborn to run 150bpmβ which is mainly classic rock.
Iβve now switched to nothing and enjoying not having music pounding in my ears.
It would be nice to not have to wear earphones...I have a Bluetooth over the ears set... I have tiny ears and the in ear ones wouldn't stay in...but the over ear ones are like wearing earmuffs...my ears get so warm!
Aftershokzβs are great, they sit on the bone on the outside of the ear so no pain with inner ear buds and you can still hear what is going on around you including traffic, also no cable. I have a small head and the child size fits well for me. Not cheap but worth it.
I listened to Rhod Gilbert today, some days Jason Manford, sometimes other comedy, I look like a nutter running down the road laughing to myself, but it takes your mind off the running and before you know it another km has gone by.
Iβve got terrible listening skills and day dream so audio books would be terrible for me. I like music, particularly the radio at the moment.
Iβve tried audio books, podcasts and running playlists but have now realised that I like to listen to music I love, no matter the tempo, so I am currently running to a Spotify generated playlist of my favourite songs.
Iβve created a number of playlists in my computer and downloaded them on to my phone. Works great but may need to mix them up a bit at later point.
I have a range of music π΅ some pumping tunes with a good beat gets me in the zone!
Today's run ended with, of all things, Cliff Richard's "On The Beach" which was at the perfect tempo.
Nice....and were you on the Beach? My last run finished with a song called Flood....lyrics "rain rain on my face" ...and guess what.... π§οΈ π
Sadly, no. My jukebox stream has about 9000 tracks in it, randomly shuffled.
I have a running playlist on Spotify. Nearly 5 hours of music so put it on shuffle open.spotify.com/playlist/0...
I'd like to say I commune with nature and listen to birdsong, or that I improve my mind with audiobooks but I love my music and it's part of my running experience. I have three playlists: fast, fun and slow. Love them all.
