Question for ladies that run in the evenings or early mornings; do you take/wear an alarm?? I stick to well lit roads but am feeling a little vulnerable and just wondering if people have an alarm to feel a bit safer?

I haven’t run in the dark yet and was wondering the same this morning as I’m usually before 6am and now it’s dark, I find myself waiting around for day to break. So I’m interested in finding out too.

I usually go with my mum in the evenings so haven't felt the need to, but it would probably be a very good idea for any women who run at night. I'd rather be over-prepared than under! Perhaps there's an app for your phone that could be a panic alarm?

I was thinking about getting some pepper spray to put in my bum bag? I normally run with my husband and dog but on the odd occasions that I am on my own I do question my safety.

I have a wrist alarm... it makes a very, very loud noise...I run mainly off road, so it would only frighten the wildlife... on roads it certainly would raise folks' attention. Also useful if you have a fall too... again for drawing attention.
