Buying Trainers

I’ve heard a lot about shops where they assess your gait and other factors and recommend the best running shoes for you. Is there a particularly good one in London or Cambridge? And roughly what kind of budget are we talking?

Try Googling gait analysis in your area.

I really like Runners Need - they're all over the place and I've always found their staff helpful. They have a good range of budgets too. I think my first ones were around the £60 mark :)

Thanks for that! £60 would be doable. I have been very badly hit financially by the pandemic, so cost is an issue.

You can get good shoes and at good prices. If you go for ladt year's models they're about half price, so £60 is do-able. At least running isn't an expensive activity - much cheaper than my husband's golf gear!

'Up & Running' is also good

You’re looking at £120 for shoes in a shop with a gait analysis .Then next time you can but then online for cheaper.

Run4it were brilliant. Gave me a gait analysis and helped me find shoes - they weren't pushing the most expensive ones either as I got ones in the sale. This was a few years ago now though - i recently bought a new pair online.

There’s an Advance Performance in Cambridge that do gait analysis.
