OK so as the weather gets a bit colder how do you manage your warm up walks.
Once I get running I'm warm enough - but here on exposed slopes of Yorkshire you can get pretty cold on a windy/rainy winters day. Trouble is I'd cook and turn into a ball of sweat if I kept wearing a cosy layer ideal for warm up walk during my run, and I don't fancy running with it
Alternate cold weather warm ups? walk 2.5 mins away from home 2.5 home again ditch the jacket and then run?
Anyone had a better idea - what do the more experienced runners do. ?

I get hot really quickly but I agree it's the leaving the house bit in cold weather which is the hardest! I usually take a zip up hoodie sweatshirt type thing and so I can tie it around my waist when I've warmed up. I don't know how people run in layers and jackets. Good luck the cold weather is not easy or inspiring 😂
I warm up indoors. Lots of dynamic stretches and jogging on the spot. Then out the door at a slow and steady pace for about 5-10 minutes. If anything feels tight I stop and stretch it gently before continuing. I never wear layers. I just grit my teeth and get on with it. If I get cold I run faster. 😂
I do a warm up routine in the hall before hitting the street. Get toasty and warmed up muscles before opening the door I do jumping jacks, skaters, jump rope (without an actual rope) ☺️, butt kicks, arm swings etc
I’m on the other side of those exposed slopes over in North west Derbyshire. I’ve been known to do my 5 minute warmup around the house, though it drives the wife crazy! Your plan would work well.
