After an extra days rest I was itching to get back out there and get on with it! Having had 2 days with my ankle iced and rested I felt so restless, although thankfully have been able to enjoy watching the French Open tennis without feeling too guilty ๐
Having not even walked anywhere as instructed by physio son, this morning it felt much better and the puffiness gone so thought Iโd give it a go. Heโd told me when I could โhop up and down on the bad leg for 30 timesโ then โhop forward a metreโ on it, both with no pain then Iโd be good to go ๐คAll was good and I really wouldnโt have risked further injury and continued if it wasnโt ๐
Off I went ๐โโ๏ธ making sure I went really, really cautiously to start with, testing it out ๐ I decided to go straight down our long road and back which was the route I took in the early weeks, to avoid turning corners. I was astounded at the difference in distance covered compared to those initial interval weeks. Unfortunately itโs slightly downhill there then uphill back but I managed it really well and even needed to divert into a side loop to get in the warm down and arrive back home. Ankle felt good althoโ Iโm icing it now as a precaution (back watching the tennis ๐)
Iโve been so inspired by you running buddies graduating this week or just about to that itโs made me more determined than ever ๐ช I so want to be crossing the finish line at about the same time as the current W8 crew and tbh I donโt know how much longer I can keep this a secret from my husband ๐คฃ I truly cannot wait to see the delight on his face (well, I hope heโll be delighted!) when I tell him Iโm going to be able to accompany him, albeit occasionally and much slower ๐ข
R3 on Sunday if I can send him off the driving range again!
Keep going everyone ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ and enjoy your weekends ๐
