After an extra days rest I was itching to get back out there and get on with it! Having had 2 days with my ankle iced and rested I felt so restless, although thankfully have been able to enjoy watching the French Open tennis without feeling too guilty ๐
Having not even walked anywhere as instructed by physio son, this morning it felt much better and the puffiness gone so thought Iโd give it a go. Heโd told me when I could โhop up and down on the bad leg for 30 timesโ then โhop forward a metreโ on it, both with no pain then Iโd be good to go ๐คAll was good and I really wouldnโt have risked further injury and continued if it wasnโt ๐
Off I went ๐โโ๏ธ making sure I went really, really cautiously to start with, testing it out ๐ I decided to go straight down our long road and back which was the route I took in the early weeks, to avoid turning corners. I was astounded at the difference in distance covered compared to those initial interval weeks. Unfortunately itโs slightly downhill there then uphill back but I managed it really well and even needed to divert into a side loop to get in the warm down and arrive back home. Ankle felt good althoโ Iโm icing it now as a precaution (back watching the tennis ๐)
Iโve been so inspired by you running buddies graduating this week or just about to that itโs made me more determined than ever ๐ช I so want to be crossing the finish line at about the same time as the current W8 crew and tbh I donโt know how much longer I can keep this a secret from my husband ๐คฃ I truly cannot wait to see the delight on his face (well, I hope heโll be delighted!) when I tell him Iโm going to be able to accompany him, albeit occasionally and much slower ๐ข
R3 on Sunday if I can send him off the driving range again!
Keep going everyone ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ and enjoy your weekends ๐

Yes Iโve heard itโs dreadful โน๏ธ so rubbish for everyone trying to progress. Hope you can get R2 done soon, then youโre within touching distance ๐
My goodness Iโve been a positive running ๐ฆฅ compared to you!!
This morning wasnโt happening because there were gales as well as driving rain and then I got my head into a pot of paint for the rest of the day, firstly prepping and painting skirting boards and door surround and then up cycling an old small wardrobe thatโs going to become my shoe cupboard ๐
So glad that your ankle has healed and youโre back out there... Iโll get my skates on... no running shoes ๐... back on tomorrow
By the way, love that you started the programme choosing a route without corners ๐ I was ok with corners but did everything I could to avoid even small inclines!!
Had heard the weather was ghastly at home today, really hope itโs better for you tomorrow so you can get those skates on ๐ โweโ need you with us ๐
I thought running mostly straight today would mean avoiding having to turn my feet/ankle. I have recently been running around lots of side roads that all seem to have 90 deg turns ๐ I know itโs 4k to the end of the road and back, from our front door, but with the warm up and down walks Iโm running out of road so am looping round side roads now. I can of course run past the house in the other direction ๐คฃ
