Bad Weather Running

I have one last run to do to earn my completion medal but with Autumn now here, the weather is starting to get colder. As a newbie male runner who started in the middle of Summer, I have no idea of what sort of gear I'll need for wet weather or colder temperature. Can you lot out there give me some advice please? Thanks

Layers for winter running, with gloves and a buff being on my list of essential kit.

As they say, there's no such thing as bad weather, there's only bad and inadequate running clothes. 😉 I've written here about it a few times, and there is more detailed info about outdoor running in all weathers in my blog, check it out!

Thanks, I've just read it. Very useful. I broke every rule last night, had about three layers on and then a waterproof jacket and trousers. I was Sooooooooo hot which I couldn't believe because it was so cold, wet and windy.Wont do that again!! 😆🏃‍♀️

Glad you've read it. it may sound silly but during a cold winter run you may end up in just a t-shirt and still feel warm (don't start running in a t-shirt though, warm up first and THEN remove the layers). Try and experiment - and do avoid over-layering in this weather, this is NOT cold! ;)
