An enthusiastic 65th birthday celebration on Sunday meant I needed an extra rest day before completing the final run of W8, which I did yesterday. I changed my route a bit and think I now have the ideal route (for me and where I live, that is) for the imminent W9.
On the run itself I had a couple of spectators who started cheering me as I went past - although I couldn’t quite make out whether they were calling jack-daw, go-on or give up. It wasn’t really any easier or, thankfully, any harder than the first two W8 runs but that has now convinced me that I will be able to complete W9. I’ll be doing the first run tomorrow morning and am looking forward to it.
I listened to that programme live whilst driving round the Hope Valley in Derbyshire. There weren't that many birthday dedications. Should I re-listen? 😈😉
