Well done. See not so bad is it? and the gradual steps up from here aren't too bad either.

I do trust the plan. My 71 year old muscles are just objecting at times, I will definitely face it positively. Thanks

That was exactly my reaction when I set off yesterday morning and Michael told me that’s what I’d be doing..... but I was out the door so no turning back!

It IS possible, I did it!!!! 😀

I hasten to add that I am very much still shuffling along and there’s very little difference between my walking and running pace.... I’m hoping the pace will pick up as my stamina continues to improve.

Go for it, just pace yourself, you can do it! xx

Thanks Sazzle. I will be out if the door and doing my elderly plodding!

I’ll have start start changing my nick name of ‘71 and never run’ to ‘71 and started to run’!!

Just completed week 5 - and yes it's absolutely doable. I've never run before, am 66 and have followed the programme to the letter. So far so good. Roll on week 6 😁

No.

No-one on this planet has ever made it past W5R2. Think along the lines of The Hunger Games. We are waiting with bated breath for someone, ANYONE to make it... we need to be shown it's possible. Without hope, what are we? What will become of us? Can YOU be our Luke Skywalker? Our Wonder Woman?

Week 9 (3x 30 minutes) has now attained the status of planet Earth in Battlestar Galactica.

Us mere mortals can only dream. I've been 'running' for 5 years and I'm still stuck at 2x 8 mins. Today will be my 782nd attempt. I'm with you in mind and spirit.

Can YOU show us the way?

I think most of us have thought the same. But in the event, it wasn’t a problem. For me, it’s the first 5 to 10 minutes that are hardest. So give it a go! Believe me, I did it and graduated in August. And I’m two years older than you. 😊🏃🏼‍♀️🏃‍♂️

How brilliant. Thanks. People are so great here. I will carry all of the community in my head as I toil away.

Yes, of course you can do it , if you look at the timings it's actually 1 minute less of a training session than week five run 2 😁

Totally possible 😁 and you'll feel like a warrior when you do it! 💪🏃‍♀️

I thought exactly the same....no way can I do that!!!!

But I did it and like so many others was overjoyed and buzzing for hours after.

Remember there is no thing as too slow running, pick a nice route and just keep putting one foot in front of the other and fix on a point ahead of you and repeat.

You can do it! Amaze yourself and celebrate yourself! 🍀
