Doomed from the start!!!!

What a crap run! So disappointed ☹️ I normally run in a morning but the darker mornings are making it difficult so off I trot at 6.15pm instead of am for a consolidation run. Then one of my headphones stops working but worst of all I just can’t get my breathing right. Onto the long stretch and start feeling a little dizzy and to top it off stitch. I ran for a total of 17minutes and just wanted to cry. I’m hoping this is just a bad run.

Oh it was just an off day! Don't worry, I remember having a couple of awful runs after I graduated. I'm not sure how many consolidation runs you've done, but take every one slowly. Doing warm up exercises might help as it sounds like you might have had the toxic ten. Maybe change your route because that can sometimes help shake off a difficult run.

Good luck.

Off days are part of the battle.

Keep going though you will be just fine.

We all get runs like that, like you I’m a morning runner and I know I’d struggle running in the evening. Maybe you could choose a better lit route for the morning run or invest in a chest torch

I know I should switch up my routes but I really like my usual route. it’s through the woods though which is not a great idea even with a chest torch. Think I’m just gunna have to bite the bullet and find some different routes

Crying is allowed (though screaming is best), as is giving the wheelie bin a bit of a kick, and slamming the back gate.

Get it out of your system, and the next run will be fine. 🙂

We all have runs like that. It was just an off day. Your next run will be fine.

Have a look at this website if you are looking for new routes

I had a very similar thing last night- went an hour after dinner for a week 6 run 3. Horrible, but still ran for the majority of the time. A lot of adjusting at the moment, I'm hoping I can still do an early run, just a different route which is better lit....

I know how you feel, but please don’t beat yourself up. We all have off days. Give yourself a big pat on the back for getting out and exercising 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Better than sitting on the couch !! You will smash your next run !

Just a bad run, definitely - we all have them!

Most weeks I run 3x30 mins but other weeks I can only run for 20 mins on one run - I just don’t feel right. The next run I dread, thinking ‘oh gosh, my last run was awful, I don’t want to do this!’ and without exception I then have a great run - sometimes running an extra 5-10 mins.

Just chalk it up to a bad day, you did your best, your next run will be fine and don’t let it get in your head!

You’ve got this, you’ll do better on your next run 👍

Yes, same here with my breathing, but don’t worry, remember a bad run is better than no run at all, stick with it and you’ll begin to feel better.
