I've been away for 2 years, but have decided to have another try at running. They diagnosed me as type 2 diabetic last year, and I managed, through diet to get 3 stone off. But lockdown has helped me put about 6lbs back on 😒. So I joined a gym and decided to try couch to 5k again. First week was easy, and I tomorrow will see me do wk2 day2. I'm not struggling, but it's not easy either. If I run on Mon, wed, and Fri, will fell walking at weekends hold me back? Hubby has suffered 3 leg clots in last 12 months and needs me to walk with him
Hello again: I've been away for 2 years, but... - Couch to 5K
Hello again
We do the odd walk on the days between runs and I’ve just started week 7. I was type 2 diabetic, lost 10 stone over last couple of years and diabetes in remission
I was diagnosed with Type 2 pre-diabetes, the quack strongly suggested I lose weight, so I've shifted 20 pounds and started this Couch to 5K. Finding the diet a lot tougher than the actual running, but I've made it through to Week 7. Good luck with your program, Lizzj, the fell walking sounds a great idea.
Hi Lizzie 👋 well done on getting off the couch 😄
Make sure you read the pinned posts which will really help...as will the support you will get on here 👍
Any low impact activity...including walking, will be fine on a recovery/rest day.
Take each day as it comes, and see how it goes.
Slowly and surely wins the race...but of course, we are NOT racing 🤣
