I graduated in April and I think it’s fair to say that my running after that success has been a bit hit and miss. I started the consolidation runs but didn’t quite complete my plan. After a gait analysis and investment in some very fine Brooks running shoes and a Garmin 🤷🏼♀️ I gave up mid July.
I have been experiencing some pain around my right ankle, a little ‘policeman’s heel’, 5 stone overweight and having always been a very slow runner/jogger it was easy to listen to the inner ‘imposter syndrome’ talking to me....
For some reason unknown to me I decided on Sunday morning to get up and run 🏃♀️ I don’t know what happened but I managed 5K it took me 56 mins ... I was exhausted and elated!
Great effort! Blimey - no running since mid July ad you’re right back in at 5k. I’m still a little way off achieving that but I am now inspired to press on. Well done for getting “back in the saddle” 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I think its very easy to let the running slip especially with everything that's happened this year. So well done for getting back out there and amazing to do 5k straight away! Have you tried the C25k stepping stones podcasts? I found those great for a bit of motivation or going back to the last few weeks of C25k, just to get back into a routine.
Thank you. I can hardly believe the distance myself? I have checked my Garmin over and over 🤔
I definitely need a new routine so thank you for the Podcasts recommendation.
