Consolidation Runs 2-6! - Long post, sorry! :)

Hello all!

Been away for a couple of weeks and I’m so glad I listened to you lot and took my running shoes as I’m glad I was able to go out for a few runs whilst away!

I’ve still not attempted at 5km run yet, I’m happy in my 4km zone but I think I’ll be going for 5km fairly soon. I say run, I’m not sure it sounds but I’m still moving quicker than most people I pass in the mornings :)

A quick summary of what I’ve done. I think I need to step it up now...

24/08 – 4km – 9’33” – 38m15s @Looe, Cornwall

I was excited for this run as I had planned where I wanted to run and I knew it had some hills involved but a great view. The run was good and pretty uneventful although the ground was slippery and I can only assume it felt more slippery than usual because I was running around the harbour walls. My shoe laces became untied for the final km but I carried on anyway and just ignored (but not forget) the shoes were untied.

As the weather was naff, we went to a National Trust place in the afternoon and by the end of the day, it was 22k+ steps done! And I was worried about not doing enough exercise whilst away :D

27/08 – 4.01km – 8’47” – 35m11s @Looe, Cornwall

Enjoyed this one and managed to avoid the hills by going elsewhere and starting with the view of the beach made me excited to finish the face, grab my kids and get in the sea

30/08 – 4km – 8’52” – 35m31s @Home

Birthday run! Enjoyed being home for a couple of days and went out for my run to the same place as Consolidation Run 1. I enjoyed this one again but the County Park was muddy and there were a few fallen trees across paths so I had to go off roading which was a bit different!!

02/09 – 3.26km – 8’50” – 38m48s @Freshwater East, Wales

I was intending 3km for this one and the map this crazy as I was pretty much hitting dead ends along the paths in the wooden area, unable to run on the sand dunes or avoiding massive hills – could have planned this one better with maybe a drive elsewhere.

Nice views again, the picture attached is the end of run view (I had to run around in circles for about 30 seconds to finish where I wanted to haha!!)

07/09 – 4.01km – 9’01” – 36m09s @Home

After putting off running on the Saturday and Sunday (not sure what was wrong, think we were all tired from the travelling and getting back home on Friday), I went for a run today and realised how much I missed it as this was by far the longest I’d been without a run! Decided to run along the main road and although it was running in a new location, I wasn’t overly keen on the pollution surrounding me, you can definitely notice it when it’s cold and you’re running!!

Anyway, routine is getting back to normal-ish with my eldest going back to school today so I'm going to try and go out earlier and getting my act together the night before with making lunch and ironing uniform so I don't feel guilty going out to leave my partner to sort everyone out in the morning.
