So yesterday I did week 2 run 2, and I noticed throughout the run that my right knee was hurting a little, but I pushed through. This morning I've woken up and I still have pain, and I think my right knee is a little swollen. I can bear weight on it and it's by no means crippling, but I don't want to make it worse. I've looked it up and the NHS says its super common to have knee issues and pain if you run.
Should I be worried? I want to just ice and stretch it tonight and run as usual tomorrow, but I don't want to give myself lasting damage.
Are there any ways to mitigate against knee injury? I've been running on concrete, should I try to run on softer ground?
Thanks in advance

I had this in week 1 and was concerned about it too. It went away eventually but you can’t be too careful with knees. Go easy.
Is that NHS advice? It just doesn’t seem right to stretch it if it’s hurting.
Though keeping it mobile I think is the key. Go for an easy walk on it, see how it feels? If you do desk work, try to get up and move around regularly.
I do spot runners who wear knee pads or wraps, whatever they’re called, these may help but I don’t know.
