Hello amigos, I climbed Snowdon on Saturday and am quite sore in the knees and quads, so I am feeling that I must get back with the programme tomorrow w3 r1 but am a bit concerned I may do more harm than good? Any thoughts?

Totally fine to take an extra day when you feel you need to- after all, going up Snowdon is hardly resting and recovering! Don't forget your stretches even after hiking though - should help with the soreness.

If you’re feeling sore, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have an extra day to recover . I know you’re keen to get back to week 3 but you don’t want to risk injury. While the plan has one day between the runs, you can take more if you want to!

Any activity that we are not used to (and I’m assuming Snowdon isn’t a weekly thing) on “rest” days requires recovery. I’d be inclined to take a little rest period while at the same time keeping the legs loose. The run will wait until you’re recovered and it’ll be a better run for that wait.

Why not delay the run for day - but spend the tie you would have run doing a brisk walk to keep you from seizing up.
