Well I thought I’d go for my first run of W9 👍 started off ok but 10 minutes in and I was faced with an extremely long incline 😭, tried to push on but struggled near the top had to go for a brisk 45 second walk then carried on running, ran through a stinging nettle bush( ouch 😣) kept on going , got to halfway 15 minutes in and was flagging to say the least, plodding is what I’d describe 🤣so I slowed my pace (was I walking, I couldn’t tell) !! Keep going I thought to myself but pretty damn hard today, I struggled to be honest, I briskly walked again for about a minute then ran the rest to 30 minutes, so I think I ran for 24 minutes in total, about 2.46 miles. I have 2 more 30 minute runs left 🙏🏼and I’ve signed up for Race for life 26/9/20 better shape up me thinks 🤣

Hills, inclines - they really take it out of new-to-running legs. Try taking much smaller steps - your overall pace will drop, and it should, but you are still running without using quite so much energy. As the ground levels out you can go back to a comfortable stride but maybe still keep your pace down until your legs and breathing recover. Well done for sticking at it and completing the run 🙂
