Heel Lock Lacing

For SammiN3

So effectively this arrangement laces up in the same hole as it would normally do, but it pulls the heel of the shoe tighter.

Instead of just tying the bow over the tongue after the last "normal" hole you make a loop by threading the lace over and down through one of the upper holes and then pass the lace on the other side under that loop then tie the laces as normal.

The guy in the shop said to experiment.

My shoes have 2 upper holes. He said to see which one works best. Sometimes people use one hole on one side and the other hole on the opposite side. Or even different holes on each foot.

You will find many pages on the internet on how to tie your running shoes, many of which can aid in releasing pressure points or aiding fit.

Thank you so much! I followed this and it made a massive difference. I have compeed plasters on so that protected my blisters but this made them a much better fit. They didn't move at all! I have saucony shoes and the laces and top seem elasticated but this holds them in place. Thank you x

You're very welcome.

I'm so glad it helped. I have broad feet and narrow heels so always struggle with fit in any shoes and lacing up like this makes a big difference
