Hello just started week 9 and only recorded the running not the warm up or cool down walks for the first time! Mixed emotions about my distance as I was creeping up to the 5k when I was including the walks... Any tips for getting closer? I'm currently running on hills and might go down to the flat to see if I can push it up a bit.. Any advice or experiences welcome ππ
Week 9!!: Hello just started week 9 and only... - Couch to 5K
Week 9!!
Your distance for the run time looks about right .
Remember, this is about running for 30 minutes non stop 3x
5k can come later if you want it to .
I think my final run on the program was 3.9k in 30 minutes
I would do just as you are doing. Tracking distance is a mixed blessing later in the programme. Not many people manage 5k in 30 minutes at the end of week 9. Your distance looks pretty much normal and the important thing is to remain injury free and run at your own comfortable pace. You can think about 5k later on! Good luck.
That's very very good going for such a hilly route: 8Β½min/km.
You're bound to be slower when going uphill (and downhill) as it takes more effort.
It's a good thing to mix up the routes: hilly one day, flat another. Experiment!
Sounds like youβre doing great πππ
donβt worry about the distance - especially if you are negotiating hilly tracks !
Not sure Iβll ever achieve 5k in 30mins but already done 2 x 5k
and who cares how long it took?
No need to get hung up on distance/time.
I get what you are saying. I have always recorded the whole of the run, walks included. This week I managed 5k, I was super happy until someone pointed out that and I got a bit deflated. I'm trying to avoid hills for the time being, mainly bc I don't want to get injured.
I'd say that if you go for a flat trail you'll be VERY close to 5k already.
Congrats! 125 elevation is a lot!
