So I have found week 3 really hard I roughly get to like 2 mins then my legs go to jelly. I've tried to hydrate more the day before and during my run.

Any help I am most grateful 😊

Hmmm, my legs turn to jelly if I have run out of oxygen- so you might be pushing too fast . Slow right down to “super slow”. 😄Have you looked at the Japanese Slow Running clips on You Tube? - That’s the pace you need for now. 😄

Yeah I will have a look thinking of repeating week 3 until I feel comfortable doing week 4 which is looking hard.

Hi Jacqui, I have just completed wk3 this morning. I felt today’s run was harder, I slightly quickened my pace. How is your pace? Try slowing it down? Hydration is very important so you are doing the right thing by upping your water intake. To me it’s a big learning curve and I always take something away from my runs. Today is next time slow down. Even if you can’t run for the full 3 min segment - 2 mins is more than wk2 so it’s an improvement. 👏🏻

Yeah thanks I mean I'm enjoying it which is good in itself. Yeah 2 mins is like my good lol but after that my legs turn to jelly I slowed my pace right down today which helped but those 3 mins runs. Just thinking if I repeat week 3 just I know week 4 is super hard haha. Thanks 😊

It’s your journey no one else’s. If you feel repeating wk3 will help you progress do it. Great to hear you are enjoying it !

Are you eating enough in general? I sometimes get wobbly legs and then realise I only had a light tea the night before. Are you going too quickly? Maybe you just need to take the pace down a little more to keep it comfortable. Remember, every run will be building up your leg muscles a little more making the next ones better and better. You're doing really well!

One of my challenges is getting the right breathing rhythm while I run - if you're also having trouble with that, you might not be getting enough oxygen which could contribute to jelly legs. I haven't quite cracked the code myself yet, but know there's various bits of advice out there about how to count out your breaths in pace with your strides which might be helpful?

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

Enjoy your journey.
