Is it just me...

I did W2R2 this morning and like the past few runs about an hour after stretches and shower I have felt really really cold. I had to put on a thick cardigan and it’s not like it was chilly today🥶. This lasted for an hour or two.

I was just wondering whether this happens to anyone else? And if so have you found a way of counter it 🤷‍♀️

Hi Biscuitbaker,

I've just done W1R3, and I was the same! It's very strange..

I haven't any idea why, would be interesting to see what it means!!

I’m sure it’s my body overreacting in some way, but honestly this morning my husband was in shorts and T-shirt and I was in my thick winter cardi. It’s ridiculous!

I often feel cold once I’ve cooled down. It must be our bodies adjusting to getting warm/hot when exercising and then cooling down.

This is not uncommon for some people and if you do a search you will find various theories. The most likely is low blood sugar.

I feel like I can go for a sleep after some, assuming this is the same thing? A banana post run maybe isn't enough.

Thanks

Hmmm, might have to rethink what I have to eat and when post run.

I get really chilly after a run, my theory is we get really hot and sweaty running especially in this warm weather and then cool down and the contrast makes us feel chilly for a while

Same here! I think it could be low blood sugar as I don't eat before I run - I'm on wk8 so will have to change this as the runs are longer. Hope you find a solution 😃

Me too, I go out first thing, just a glass of water, stretch and go. I always intend to eat breakfast as soon as I get back (after stretching) but then I don't feel very hungry and I'm eating mid morning. Sometimes I feel chilled to the bone afterwards.

I hadn't thought about low blood sugar, in the podcast Laura recommends eating a piece of fruit with the water afterwards and I am sure that will help.

I always have something small to eat about 30-40 mins before I run. Once I have finished and stretched, I remove my sweaty t-shirt and put on a hoody with the hood up for a 10 - 15 minutes, stops me cooling down too quickly. May not help everyone but works for me.
