I’m nowhere near 5k at the moment and after a failed run last week, I thought I would try the C25K ‘stamina’ podcast by Laura. When I listened to Laura explaining the next 35 minutes, I had instant regret, especially when she said I would be speeding up for the last 5 minutes, a time when I am usually slowing down! Anyway to my surprise, I enjoyed the podcast, running in time to the music, I managed to speed up at the end and had a great 35 minute run covering just over 4K. So now I’m wondering if anyone else uses a similar structured podcast or download that I can put on my phone and mix it up a bit?

Brilliant! Remember there is no rush to hit 5k! Lots of people don't. There are three of the NHS podcasts - Stepping Stones, Stamina and one more. Another thing you could look at is an app called Nike Run Club. There are lots of guided runs on there where you have a voice in your ear but play your own music in the background. There are a huge variety of guided runs for you to choose from.
