No running for about 4 weeks

I haven’t been out for a run for at least 4 weeks now. I lost my MOJO when app kept stopping. Despite reloading it did the same so tried downloading podcast. That was ok but the music was not inspiring my run. So I tried just running without app. That didn’t work either. Then we had a heatwave when it was far too hot to walk never mind run. Now I have some back pain which is jarred when running. Osteopath is sorting me out so, fingers crossed, I’ll be back in a week or so. I guess I’ll have to jump back a few weeks to boost my stamina again. Any tips welcome 🙂🙏

Yes go back a couple of weeks. I ditched Laura at about week seven and just timed the runs, which worked fine once you are doing non stop runs.

I think discipline is really important at this stage; if you wait for your mojo to return, you relinquish control and you may be waiting a long time.

It is possible to programme intervals into Runkeeper, so you could have interval notification and tracking all in one app and play your own choice of music.

As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running.

After that loss of condition is gradual.

All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out and see what we can comfortably manage, then build back up gently, using C25k or something similar as a guide to weekly increase.

If you can keep active in other ways in the meantime that will probably help. Gently does it on your return to running. Best of luck.🍀
