WK9R1 Complete - little emotions....

I've not posted much recently but I felt I needed to share something today. 3 months ago when I failed run 1, I didn't think running was for me. Heck 3 years ago when I stopped running I thought my knees would never let me run properly again. Never thought I'd have a tear when completing my first 30 minute run, but here we are and thanks to all of you helpful folk and friends.

I think I've barely did much over 2.5km. However attached is a graph of me trying to keep my little heart beating in the green zone, to improve my aerobic fitness. Now I know how to run regularly and get/stay fit!

Wow, that’s fantastic! Well done to you and your knees 👏👏👏👍

It’s good to see a post from you, I did wonder how you were getting on.

Good for you for doing the green zone running! I’m doing exactly that tomorrow. I managed an hour last week and hope to repeat that.

I hope that you continue to post how you are getting on! 👍

Thanks, been a bit busy busy with work and home so haven't had time lately. Also it seemed everyone I knew finished the programme already, so didn't feel I needed to check in on you guys anymore lol.

Lol so are you running for an hour straight now? Seems like you're smashing it post C25K

I’ve just started to do that once a week, keeping in the green zone. It’s not hard if you take it slowly 🙂

Nice one yeah if it wasn't for my legs at this rate I feel like I can go on forever!

Running in zone 3 is the way forward!

80% of runs should be done like this.

Well done 👍🏽

Thank you should the other 20% be in zone 4 and 5? Eek not sure my poor knees can manage that for long

Only if you’re desperately trying to increase VO2 max. I would suggest that if you’ve just started running, stick to zone 3 most of the time actually.

Great running there... that’s a might impressive set of HR zone stats... keep it like that and you’ll go far.

Thanks I have to start taking deeper breathes and smaller strides to bring the heart rate down takes a while... And then suddenly it drops too much lol!

Well done, and your post brought a tear to my eye. It can be so tough but you kept on trying. Easy to give up.

Brilliant 30 minute run and who cares about the distance.

Congratulations! 🥳

Week 1 run 1 can only be described as a fail if you ended up back on the couch. As it is, it was a practice run, and the start of a life-changing journey. 👍

That is true, I was pretty demotivated after the first run. Thought I'd look online to see what I could do and found this place with lots of advice which has helped so much.

Wow, this is very motivating!

Thank you, I wasn't expecting it to be motivating lol, just needed to get it off my chest

in reply to f1madman

It is motivating to someone who is struggling to finish week 1 with poor iron levels! I am out of breath so quickly at the moment! And slightly dodgy knees too...

Good luck, you can do it! If you're struggling the best advice I got was to run slower. There's no such thing as too slow, but easy to go too fast
