I went out early- 6.45 and the heat and humidity exhausted me. Everything hurt and seemed really hard work. I'm consolidating and have been running 5k each time but as soon as my strava said 4k I stopped and there was nothing I could do to make me go again- my head beat me!
I saw so many people running in the mid day sun yesterday at 30°+ so why was it so difficult for me?

I guarantee it would have been hard for anyone running in the midday heat yesterday. Early morning is the best time to run but often very humid, so that’s probably what caught you out!
But hey, you still got up and ran 4k, so thats a win 🙂and a decent run in my books!👍
Also, you did better than me - I decided that after another poor nights sleep, not to get up for an early run today! 😴
I struggled with my run today as well, I went out about 7 and to start with it didn’t seem to bad but it got very humid very quickly! It was one of my slowest runs, but at least we got out and did it 👍
I’ve run during the morning, and I’m not an early person, but during the day is impossible. I also noticed that I’m getting headaches after running, apparently that’s to do with humidity.
This weather will soon pass, give yourself a break and get back to it when things cool down 🥵 Good luck.
Like you I went out at 6:45 and into the heat, mind you there were a few welcome drops of rain as well. Also like you I decided to end my consolidation run at 4km, which is my first none 5k run in months. Whilst I could probably have made it to 5k I decided that it just wasn’t worth doing so in the heat. Still happy I got out there and did 4km, so hope you feel the same. There will always be another day to do 5k. 😀
Thank you x funny how your perspective changes! 3 months a go I would have been over ther moon with a 4k run and now I see that I haven't got to 5. I feel happier now after all your comments x
I chickened out last night and decided not to run this morning. The temperature was 20°C and 95%RH this morning at 7am. I think I made the right choice.
Take your pick, lower temperatures in the morning before 8 but higher humidity OR lower humidity in the afternoon BUT higher temperature, I prefer the former.
