Today was my hardest run.

As a bit of background, I am fairly heavy chap, and I have found that I've needed to build in extra rest days to properly recover. My goal was to graduate before my birthday on the 5th August, however, because of the extra rest days I resigned myself to missing the target; that was until my competitiveness kicked in! My last run was Tuesday, meaning I could finish W8 today, and get out on W9 on Sat, Mon and Wed...... well that is what I am going to try to do.....

So today I quickly felt tired and my legs felt heavy - I nearly gave up at 5 minutes, by 10 minutes I had convinced myself I had no chance of making the whole 28 minutes. At the turnaround I walked for about 10 seconds before kicking myself up the backside to get going again. At about 21-22 minutes a cyclist came past, looked over his shoulder and shouted "keep going fella, you are doing awesome" - this random act of encouragement was exactly what I needed, and I started thinking about how far I have come, and how close I am getting to graduation. Before I knew it, the 28 mins was up and I'd done it. In fact I reckon I could have kept going, which is exactly what I'll need to do on Saturday!

Sorry for my ramblings! It helps me to put things into perspective when I write them down!

See you at the finish line.

Awesome, you are so inspirational, proof that a positive mind set can achieve great things.

And how lovely that cyclist said those words to you, he came past at just the perfect time

So glad you can see the finish line, good luck with your final runs and happy birthday for next week 😁

If you felt like you carry on at the 28 minute mark, you were going at the perfect pace.

Well done and crack on!

Well done 👏👏👏

We are at the same place in the program , you may well graduate before me though as I might have more than 1 rest day as I'm getting over injury .

But hey, that's fine .

If only that cyclist knew what a positive impact his words had !

Sometimes that's all we need , just a little encouragement can hi a long way !

Well done and enjoy week 9 😬👍

See you at the finish line
