Got out of bed (late - too many snooze buttons) feeling like a zombie.
Performed my ablutions, dressed, had a glass of water and stepped out of the front door.
It's a lovely morning: sunshine, cool and a bit of a breeze.
Found my "easy" pace about the 4 minute mark during the first run.
When I was just about to start the second run, the jukebox played "Slow Down" by The Beatles.
Again, the last 5 minute run was an effort (it's very slightly uphill too), but overall I feel better about this on than W4R3 (weather included). I'm still a sweaty tomato by the time I get home.
This was a good run.
Stats: 4.0km (inc walks), pace 7'58"/km (inc walks). Approx running pace 6'30"/km.

Well done for the run. The first thing I did, of course, was to look at your stats. You are faster than I am now and I’ve just done my second Consolidation run. 😀. I suppose what I’m saying here is that you do have plenty of leeway to slow down a bit if you feel you need to on the longer runs. My pace on my recent 30 minute run was 8:15 and I have to run on for 2/3 minutes to get to 4K. I’m happy with that for now. Actually, that’s a lie! I want to increase it, but don’t want to push myself too hard. I’m my own fiercest competitor and worst critic!
I'm listening to a stream that's coming from radio station playout software on a server in the loft at home. Hence the timestamped logs. It shuffles continuously. I never know what's coming next.
I do try to go slower but I have long legs. I still have the leg muscle mass that I formed in my late teens when cycling around when I was at university.
I suppose with long legs you find a pace that suits you and it becomes more effort to slow down than to keep to that pace. You are just destined to be fast!
