I have not run for a week as I have been having an ongoing niggle with my left ankle. I saw a physio last week and found that the problem is actually weak hip muscles which in turn is aggravating my ankle. Although I was told it was OK to run I decided to spend my time concentrating on the strength exercises prescribed by my physio over the last few days. What a difference they have made. All throughout my run this morning my legs felt stronger and they didn't seem to tire so easily.
I am religiously following the exercises as I really want to run (I really miss the days when I don't run). I'm planning on taking my running very slowly over the next couple of weeks and listening to my body. I'm so glad that I went to see a physio as I managed to identify the problem really early (I had an appointment within 2 weeks of my symptoms starting) and by following the exercises I will hopefully keep off the IC.
I was hoping to start Bridge to 10k in the next couple of weeks but will be delaying that on the advice of the physio. It will always be there once I have built up my muscles.
Happy running everyone
