Music or no music?

Hey all.

During my runs I have been listening to music but find my choices are not motivating me as I progress through the program.

What does everyone listen to?

What albums/songs do people recommend?

Hi, well it might not work for you but I listen to audible books. It really takes my mind off things...

I love audible books and pod cast so might give it a go.

I listen to my radio station whilst running with the app on in the background.

I listen to podcasts, the Zombies, Run app, music or a guided run on Nike Run Club, depending on how I feel. Variety is the spice of my running life 😂🏃‍♀️

I listen to spotify. Uk top 50 on shuffle play at the moment. Tom Walker, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran etc

Music is definitely the way for me. I've tried Podcasts but they don't motivate me when running. I use Spotify and have a playlist of songs I enjoy running too. It's mostly dance remixes of pop songs, past and present. Each to their own, eh? :)

I just have my downloaded music on shuffle so have everything coming through, including stuff I’d forgotten I had and haven’t listened to for ages! Everything from Handel through Chris Rea, Fleet Foxes to George Ezra - It’s great fun!

I quite like the Polyrunner podcasts and also the Run Free and Run Wild from AudioFuel (the people who made the NHS C25K podcasts).

The Polyrunner ones are good because they come in different paces. By working through these I increased my running time and distance so that I was able to run a 10K (only one, mind you :) )

I ran with music, now it’s either a podcast, a guided run, or the birdsong and the occasional update from my tracker.
