I assume you don't mean an Environmental Impact Assessment. 😜

I had Exercise Induced Asthma as a kid, made worse by sadist PE teachers. It wasn't a recognised thing back then.

Thankfully it hasn't (yet) reared its head 40 years later.

How are you with the brisk walks? Is it just the running sections that are giving you trouble?

Lol🤣

The asthma I’m learning to cope with, brisk walking is mostly fine, I was very poorly a few years ago and now Drs say I have it, but it’s the heavy legs that are really getting to me

Hello from one Buddy to another. Can you speak to your asthma nurse and tell her that you've started running and maybe he/ she can give you some advice.

As for the heavy legs feeling, are you keeping well hydrated. 2-3 liters every day I sometimes drink even more when its warm. Good luck 😊

Aww hello fellow Buddy😊 yes have spoken to asthma nurse quite a while back and they changed my puffer to a red one, ohh I think you could be right about hydration now you e mentioned it, I don’t drink much during the day, thank so much for the advice, I’m off to get myself a bottle out of the cupboard, thanks 😊😊

I don't really know much about asthma and running. But what I mean is should you be using your inhaler more or differently as a runner 😊

The inhaler is really only for when I exercise like running, I didn’t know if the 2 are connected, lack of oxygen to the leg muscles 🤷🏼‍♀️ is this why my legs feel so heavy

Not too sure . Try keeping well hydrated and see if there is a difference 😊

A suggestion would be to drink a bit more during the earlier part of your day, but keep it as usual as the evening approaches, to reduce the need for those middle of the night loo visits.

I also suffer from this, however, I am a gentleman of a certain stature, and therefore they have a lot of weight to carry!

It has definitely gotten better as the weeks have gone on and my muscles have become accustomed to the pain I put them through!

Keep plodding, and I'll see you at the finish line!

Aww bless you, I’ll be looking forward to seeing the finish line with you 😊😊

I also have asthma and find it helps to have a couple of inhaler puffs before I go out on a run. It can also help to have a cup of coffee before running.

Having said that, I’m wheezy this week and I’ve found today’s run really hard. I’m not sure how much is my body telling me to slow down and how much is mind over matter!

I’m going to try slowing it down a bit more and hopefully that will make a difference. Please let us know how you get on 😊

Yep I take a couple of puffs before I go running too, it’s the heavy legs, I’m upping my water intake as lots have advised me, fingers crossed this helps🤞🏼thanks😊
