Heavy legs ?

My legs were really heavy during today’s run - no more painful than usual, but definitely weighty. Made my pace even slower than usual. I’d almost have been faster sitting down ! Anyone else experienced this and got any tips ?

I don't know about the heavy legs, but I certainly had a tired bum today. Just keep going, that's all we can do. some days (runs) will be harder than others. Well done on getting through it despite the extra lead today. :D

Thank you ! I’m not giving up, if I have to do it on my hands ! 🤸🏽‍♂️

We get runs like that - was your previous run a bit of a longer or faster effort? Could be your leg muscles just haven’t replenished the glycogen stores and you were running on empty. You’ll benefit from that heavy run next time though, as those are the ones that build up stamina.

Useful information - thanks for that, and the encouragement 🙂

Heavy legs can be a symptom of inadequate hydration. You need to drink a minimum of 2 litres per day, but 3 litres is a better amount for a runner.

Hadn’t thought of that: I must work on it. Thanks !

Possibly lack of hydration. Ate you eating to fuel your run? I haven't been and I've struggled a bit. Not enough carbs..! Living on bananas now!🍌🍌🍌

I think hydration may be the answer. I’m not going fast enough yet to need extra fuel ! Thanks for taking the time to reply 🙂
