Heavy legs,...

So went out for a run along the Largs promenade (seemed a shame not to with such beautiful weather).

My legs were like lead from beginning to end...

The sole of my foot was agony (like being over stretched)

I felt like I was running like an aging monkey....

Anyone else have these problems? Any suggestions on how to rectify the problems for my run tomorrow?

Sometimes it can just be an energy slump/one off/ocassional thing you will comes across that you can't really explain.

Make sure you are well hydrated before your run and a while before have a snack on something high energy like nuts perhaps. The heat at the minute can take a while to get used to running in so that may have had an affect also.

Well done on running even though your legs felt heavy BUT I really would suggest having a rest day between runs? :-)

You perhaps aren't giving your legs a chance to recover, they do say a rest day between running days is best. That doesn't mean you can't do some other form of exercise though. Even doing a gentle / moderate brisk walk would be better than running two days in a row.

Good luck for your race, just remember it's mainly phycological, keep telling yourself you can do it and push on through :P
