Rained off?

This morning was supposed to be my first run but it’s been heavy rain since the early hours. Undecided on whether to press on or hope that it eases up and do an early evening start. How do people run during bad weather?

I love running in the rain. The park where I run tends to be empty and it keeps me cool. I would probably wait for a slightly lighter break if it is really heavy (hurting or sheets of rain), but I’d run in anything from drizzle to moderately heavy

Good luck whatever you decide

When I started the C25K in April i was blessed with good weather, and I think early on it helped to keep me going. As my confidence and will to complete the course grew I went out in drizzle, I haven’t braved anything heavier yet. Drizzle is good as i find it easier to breath and not humid, the wet cools you down, makes a change from the sweat🤭🤣

Initially I would recommend doing it in the dry but not in too much heat, however, it is a very personal thing, you won’t know until you try😆

I like running in the rain - it distracts me from feeling I’m tired, I can’t go on, etc etc... takes my mind off the run and before you know it... hey presto .. you have done it!

I bought an Adidas waterproof but prior to that I ran and .. got wet!

It’s actually ok and a nice warm shower back home helps 👏👏

I love running in the rain. 😄 I have a breathable, waterproof, very light jacket which keeps my torso dry-ish and I don’t mind everything else getting wet. I also wear a running cap to keep the rain off my glasses.😄

Love running in the rain. Many think I’m slightly mad but it cools and refreshes me. I am one of those odd folk who love rain anyway and often annoy people by saying no such thing as bad weather only bad clothing. It’s not quite true as rain if consistent enough alway finds a way in some where. But it holds for most occasions. I won’t go out in a thunderstorm. Love them too but safety first. Best enjoyed from inside.

What ever the weather you like best though it’s great to be running. 😀

I also like running in rain, drizzle is best!

However for your first couple of weeks, I’d try and plan to do it in the dry and if possible avoid too much heat.

Get out in the rain! It’s nice!

In the UK you can’t let the weather stop you.

Rain, sleet, snow, hail! Embrace it. The only thing I’d think twice about would be lots of ice or gale force wind.

New runner here so take this with a pinch. I find it nicer running in the rain as it not only keeps you cool but I find It helps keep me focused. I now everyone says this but if I can get through it you can. Finished week 4 today and I would get tired running up the stairs.

Keep on keeping on 🏃🤙🏻

Thank you all for responses x I know that living in Scotland means I need to get used to running in all weathers but it’s turned into a beautiful evening to do my first run ☺️
