I decided tonight to break up the monotony of just running for 5km that I was gonna do 2 runs. One at pace and one normally.
So for my first run my plan was to run as fast as I could without sprinting for as long as I could. Baring in mind my normal average pace is around 9.50 km/h, I ran at 8 km/h for 2km before having to stop. Needless to say I was quite chuffed with that.
Obviously knowing I wouldn’t be able to run for 5km at that speed I decided to run for another 2km at normal pace to top up my distance. When I think back about 3 months, I’m genuinely blown away at where my fitness is today 😊

Nice one Dtay1978 you’re doing great....mixing it up sounds a good idea....isn’t that what they call fartlek training, 🤔 fast intervals of running interspersed with slower ones....keep up the good work....Like you I still can’t believe how far I’ve come and how much fitter I feel 👍🏃♂️
Fabulous! Well done! And that’s really impressive carrying on for another 2k at normal pace having run much faster for the first 2k! I think if I’d speed up that much for 2k I’d have been ready for a lie down
