I was sooo excited to start this. I get out of breath going up the tube stairs at Kilburn station so thought this would be good. Don't like walking on my own. So was lovely to be encouraged by Jo Whiley who is great. :-) Loved the 5 min walk, managed the 60 second run and he 90 second walk.. BUT after the second 60 second run I was so totally puffed out and exhausted I had no choice but to stop. I literally thought I'd be ill if continued... So thought.. well maybe I'll just do that for now and might it get easier? If not, is more than I was doing on my couch!! I literally was totally and utterly shattered and could not have carried on. Was really disappointed. BUT is better than what I was doing which was almost nothing!

Very well done you for beginning this.

Do please, check out the FAQ post for Newbies....lots of really sound advice there.

This is all new and many, many folk have felt exactly like you are feeling now.

Take it slow and take it steady....relax and if you are struggling, slow down more .

Every single run you do makes you stronger, so..give yourself a pat on the back...rest up, and the next time out...slower than a slow snail on a go slow!

You are going to be finex

Well done on starting. Sounds like you set off too quickly, slow right down. Then slow down some more, you still get lots of health benefits from running even at the slowest pace.

Hey, well done for starting. Some folk walk faster than I jog. Really!! Check out Hiroaki Tanaka’s Slow Jogging video on U-tube. It’s an eye opener. It’s a short video.

Keep going, don’t be too downhearted. Don’t give up. You can do it.

Don't be despondent, stick to the plan it works. Of course it's hard- if it was easy we wouldn't bother 🙂! Go as slow as you can - you'll be surprised how you will progress.

Check you’re breathing as you go, it should be slow and steady. If it’s not your pace it too quick for your body. Have a look a Japanese slow jogging on YouTube 😊

The guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... explains the recommended conversational pace..........if you cannot speak full sentences as you run, you are going too fast.

Even if this means you have to jog slower than you can walk, it will still build your stamina, so stick with it and you will prevail.
