Well I’ll be blowed - Week 7 complete

Yes- I can add this to my list of achievements! I’m surprised, amazed and incredibly proud of myself. 🤗

I’ve stuck with 6.30am Mon/Wed/Fri routine which works for me. I didn’t even consider poor weather on Wed 🌧- it was my day to run, so I did. In hindsight this turned out to be the best of the week for some reason ? 🤔

Does anyone else feel “ropey” in the 1st five mins? I’ve sort of found a way through this ... I ask myself a series of questions.

Do you want to stop because your feet hurt, your ankles are sore, your dodgy knee is playing up, you can’t breathe properly, you’re going too fast ? By the time I’ve checked in with various body parts and I’m still going, I’ve managed to banish thoughts of stopping because there is no reason to.

Thanks to everyone here for inspiring posts and words of encouragement - especially for getting me through my “blip” in W6.❤️ Nearly gave up but soooo pleased I didn’t.

Let’s hope me and W8 meet on friendly terms on Mon.

Think I’ll treat myself to a cheeky glass of red wine tonight - at least I know this time I’ve earned it ! Cheers 🍷

Well done on smashing week 7.

Most people find the first 10 minutes hard, it's a natural thing, it's called the toxic 10, it's all to do with your body starting to supply enough oxygen.

You will be fine with week 8, just take it slow and steady, regulate your breathing which will help control your heartrate and you go it, 6 more runs to the podium!

Thank you - didn’t realise it’s a thing - not so concerned now. I guess the longer I run (mins) the smaller the percentage of the run I do feeling rough?

Fingers crossed for the next 3.

Woohoo well done! I just completed w7 this morning - such a great feeling! I hope you enjoyed a cheeky glass of wine (or 2) as you’ve definitely earned it 👏👏

I’m the same in the first 5 mins - my legs felt a bit “meh, can’t be bothered” & my mind tries to think of excuses as to why I shouldn’t be out running , and before I know it I’m halfway & then the feeling of achievement at the end is great, so I keep going 🤣🤣

Onwards to week 8 - we can do this ! 🏃‍♀️👍

You too -👏 I really didn’t expect to get this far. Yes - the red wine was very drinkable last night 😆

Actually looking forward to attempting 28 on Monday - another 3 mins doesn’t sound a lot but ...

Yes indeed - mixed feelings about reaching the end - must start thinking of my phase 2 - the next beginning

Well done on smashing W7 and getting through the toxic 10 ( or 5 in your case) ! I think there is a post about it somewhere, I think it’s to do with oxygen debt or something equally scientific 🤔

Hope you enjoyed your well deserved glass of 🍷 too! Onwards and upwards to W8 👏🏼👏🏼
